Howdy. I'm Dave Peters, perhaps the prettiest face behind Real HQ. I manage the day-to-day operations here.

I've been working in IT, Marketing, and Customer Support since I was a wee child. I built my first website in the 3rd grade and yep, it was about Pokémon. Since then I've done everything from consulting and startups to the ol' corporate 9-5. But no matter what I do, my mom will always say I "work with computers". I spend most of my free time reading, gardening, exploring Texas and working on pet projects both online and off.

Before joining Real HQ, I worked in Customer Service for a large insurance company. As exciting as insurance is, I was even more excited to leave. I've also dabbled in the film industry as a set dresser/prop master on feature films and you can still find me on the weekends shooting web series and short films with friends. I've lived in Des Moines, Chicago, and now Austin. All are fine cities, but Austin has truly won my heart over. 75 degrees in January? Yes please!

Hi, I'm Tim Hackbarth. I've been consulting with real estate agents for the past couple years about how to get more business online. I started Real HQ because I realized there had to be a better way to buy and sell homes. I think we're on the right track…

I enjoy writing articles on the Real HQ blog. I also post foolish missives on my personal blog Inspir.es. Someday I hope to have a Wikipedia entry written about me. If I'm not in front of a computer, I'm probably eating veggie burgers, riding bicycles, or exploring my hometown of Austin, Texas.

   

Hello! I'm Gavin Todes, and I began dabbling with software, web, and graphic design in my mid-teens. After college, I worked with companies and government organizations to enhance their tech environments. I've spent the last three years running my own startup, which has been the most challenging yet rewarding professional experience in my life.

I work with the Real HQ team to build useful software. And when I'm not pressing the buttons on my keyboard in rapid-fire, there's a good chance you can find me climbing a rock face or running a trail in the beautiful Austin outdoors.

Hello there! I'm Gilbert John Alelojo. I studied computer engineering in school, but music has been my passion for as long as I can remember. At my previous job, I worked in a pop music school where I spent every day with a creative, energetic and talented team of artists and entertainers. From that experience, I learned to bring new concepts to life and take on difficult creative challenges.

For Real HQ, I do research and data analysis, among other things. I like participating in a group and at the same time feeding myself with fresh ideas and experiences. That's why I'm excited to rock with the Real HQ band!

Hi, I'm Peter Ostrander. I've been doing web development and design work professionally for nearly a decade. Like most nerds my age, I started building DragonBall websites on GeoCities when I was 8 or 9. Sadly, GeoCities is gone, so I have to code these things from scratch now. I've since created everything from personal websites for artists to interactive learning tools for university hospitals.

I work with the Real HQ team to design beautiful and intuitive things. I hope this site is a good example of that. When I'm not working, I like to make things and watch movies.

   

Hi there! I'm Shelly Leonard, a Midwestern gal who spent my first few post-college years in Des Moines working for an insurance company and travel incentive business. I soon realized the 9 to 5 lifestyle - and driving through ice and snow - wasn't for me, so I traded my car for a bicycle and moved to Austin, Texas.

Today, I spend my days writing about everything from real estate to running marathons. I also manage the coolest co-working space in Austin. In my free time you'll find me running, having a glass of wine with friends, or hunting for the best breakfast tacos in Austin.

   

Hi, I'm John Hackbarth. I'm Tim's brother and the newest member of the Real HQ team. I help connect home buyers and sellers to a growing group of amazing real estate agents.

When not connected, I enjoy being outdoors and running, biking or swimming. I have completed many road races including triathlons, marathons, and a few ultra marathons - none of them very fast! I live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with my beautiful wife Michelle and playful dog Tucker. We like to travel and spend time with friends and family.
